What an insane ride this has been. For more than a month now, I have been fighting off hack attacks on this website. What a waste of time! Because WordPress is so popular, many hackers target it for whatever their nefarious purposes are.

I found malicious files all over the site. Files with names made up of random strings of letters, like nuggfwim, zyrdoqcd, and guaibcpl, as if they came from the Bizarro world, That is how you know they are malicious. Other than that, I found important files, like the index and config files had malicious strings of code injected into them somehow. Strange folders appeared in the root directory with names like “what-episode-does”, and “bounce-pro-my”. Try Googling those to find out anything about the folders. Good Luck!

Many time, I would get the site cleaned up and online again, only to have it happen all over again. When a site gets compromised like that, it is just take down with an error message. After many, many hours of finding and deleting these files and lines of code, and hardening up the defenses, against attack, I think the site is clean again. We will see. God, I hope so!
