Attend a Live Music Event in December
Well, I have been busy lately, and there are two pieces of news for December.
First, I will be playing a solo gig at the Cloak and Dagger Irish Pub, 394 College Street, just west of Borden, on Wednesday, December 13, 9 to midnight. It is a cozy little pub with a good selection of beers on tap, including Guinness. The food is Jamaican patties and bar snacks, but you are welcome to bring in your own from home, or any place nearby. It would be great to see you there.
Second, I am just putting the finishing touches on another single, this one is “Sunflowers for Ukraine”. I have decided to hold off releasing it until the holidays are over, and put it out on January 15, 2024. It will be available on my website before that.
This has been busy year. I put out three singles, “No Trump Hand”, “Beat Up Old Ford”, and “Two Chairs”, all of them getting some air play on college radio stations, such as the “Folk Everything” show on CKCU in Kingston.
My efforts to get back into playing live has been partially successful. There were a number of events: in May, the Celtic Ridge Showcase, at the Imperial Tavern, with Damina Crypt; June, the Open Tuning Festival in Seaton Village, and Manitoulin Passage, bicycle ride lunch at Tekhummah Hall, Manitoulin; July, Back to the Patio at Free Times Café, with Brian Gladstone, and a set at Duffy’s Patio, part of the BIG on Bloor Festival; October, Barlopalooza, at the Black Swan, with Michael Bar. All were well attended and well received by the audiences.
So, that is all for now, maybe see you on the 13th. If I don’t see you, have a great holiday!
