And then what happenned?

So, I wore the plaster cast for 5 weeks. Worked a bit on slide guitar and the rack harp. More will come on those later. I got as many signatures as I could. It got very boring. On July 23, I went back to the Fracture Clinic. They x-rayed the wrist right through the cast, then removed the cast with a little cutter machine that stops if it hits flesh. That is a good thing.
I was then given a very stylish black splint to wear for another five weeks. They said I could take it off to shower, swim and do dishes. Hah! As if I ever do dishes! They did not want to see me again. I could just stop wearing the splint after September 3. So I did what they asked, and tried to rebuild to muscle and movement in my left wrist. It is, after all, somewhat important to playing the fingerstyle guitar. I have gotten back to swimming and doing some physio to develop my wrist. I could play the guitar again. I started learning some old ragtime tunes to give my wrist a good workout.
Tuesday, Sept 2, I played my first gig after having the accident, part of the Indie Tuesdays at the Linsmore, organized by Mary-Elizabeth Gilbert. It was good. Thanks Mary-Elizabeth. Here is a video that she recorded of the event.
So, I am now starting on my comeback tour “I’m Back!” Touring all the likely venues in Toronto and surroundings for the fall and winter. Check the website for details as they are confirmed, they will be posted on the events page. The first one coming up is the Whitevale Porchfest.
